Through the IIMSAM/JRF International Medical Assistance Programme, (IMAP) is comprise of volunteer physicians and educators on medical missions to crisis-ridden areas around the world. Missions are based on:
- Invitation by a foreign government agency
- Invitation by various groups of concerned individuals who identify need we might fulfill
An on-site fact finding mission, correspondence and other communications is conducted prior to the "main" mission.
Goals:
- To provide needed services, such as, crisis intervention, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and healthcare professionals to aid with disaster victims
- To work with host physicians in hospitals on a one-to-one basis
- To introduce new methods of teaching
- To educate IIMSAM/JRF participants on Cultural Competency and Cross Cultural issues with sensitivity to the local conditions.
Missions have already gone to Cuba, Dominican Republic, Hungary, Israel, Jamaica, and the Ukraine..
Our geographical area is constantly expanding depending on need.
